The coronavirus lockdown could be eased at different levels according to specific areas, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spokesperson has confirmed.

Some measures of the lockdown could be lifted at different rates in different parts of the UK to respond according to flare-ups of the deadly bug.

Different villages and towns may have to follow different rules if the rate of infections differ, according to The Independent.

According to research, London's rate of infection is at around 24 cases per day – despite it being the worst affected area when the coronavirus pandemic started.
