Manchester United are working behind the scenes to secure their top transfer targets despite Ed Woodward claiming mega-money deals are unlikely to happen.

That’s the view of ESPN pundit Julien Laurens, who reckons Woodward isn’t telling the truth when it comes to the club’s transfer plans.

Executive vice-chairman Woodward recently poured cold water on the club splashing the cash at the end of the season by claiming big deals won’t get done because teams will be hard hit financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.
