Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has implored teaching unions to work with government to enable schools in England to begin re-opening.
At the daily Downing Street press conference on Saturday, Mr Williamson said his “door is always open” for discussion about the government's plans.
His plea came amid fears that plans to start the phased return to classrooms may be at risk if the unions refuse to co-operate.
However, some teaching unions have now said they are willing to work with the government on the plan to reopen schools - providing it can be done safely.
