Emmerdale fans have shared their surprise after not realising a real-life link amid the latest car crash tragedy. It has been a heartbreaking start to the year for Bob Hope in the ITV soap following the death of his son, Heath.

The teenager died after being involved in a car accident alongside his twin sister Cathy and their friend Angelica King. The trio ditched the village on New Year's Eve and after the families wouldn't agree to take them into Hotten for a party, they stole Wendy Posner's car and decided to take themselves there.

It wasn't until a bit later that April Windsor confessed what had happened to Cathy and Heath's dad Bob and his partner Wendy.

They quickly headed off in pursuit of the kids and it wasn't long before they were horrified to find the car crashed off of the side of a country road.
