A beloved family man who had recently come out to his wife that he was gay drove his car off a 250ft cliff in Sidmouth, an inquest has heard.
Richard David, known by loved ones as 'Nibby', returned to Devon where he had previously lived to end his life on November 6, 2019, reports Devon Live.
An inquest at Exeter's County Hall this week heard a witness, who was walking through a field at the top of Peak Hill above Jacob's Ladder , saw Richard driving through the field towards her at around 9.20am on that day.
She recalled: “The car was going fast and I moved out of the way.” She continued: “I saw him drive to the cliff where he sped up and drove over the cliff.
