CAYCE, S.C. - Authorities said that an unidentified suspect died after falling off a balcony while trying to run away from police. The Cayce Police Department in South Carolina said the incident started early Saturday morning after an officer responded to Guignard Park and noticed two individuals inside a vehicle. The park is closed after dark. As the officer approached the vehicle, the suspects drove away at a high rate of speed before crashing at the Columbia Convention Center.RELATED: Teen pulled from burning barn after upstate NY car crashAfter the crash, police said one suspect escaped and ran away. Officers did not chase him because they attended to the second person inside the vehicle. "Our officer responded in accordance with his training by calling for additional officers and first checking on the other individual from the single car accident," Police Chief, Chris Cowan said in a statement on Facebook.

Man, 41, injured in Southwest Philadelphia drive-by shooting, police say

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - A 41-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting in Southwest Philadelphia.The shooting happened on the 1600 block of South 51st Street Saturday afternoon, just after 1:30, according to officials.The 41-year-old victim was outside when someone in a silver sedan drove by and shot him.The driver of the sedan then drove off.Medics took the man to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. He is listed in stable condition.Police in the 12th District are investigating the scene.

Police: Man and woman injured after a double shooting in Ogontz

OGONTZ - A man and a woman are recovering after they were both shot in Philadelphia’s Ogontz section.35th District police were called to the 1800 block of Stenton Avenue Saturday afternoon, around 1:30 p.m., for the double shooting.Police discovered a 30-year-old man shot eight times throughout his body and a 30-year-old woman shot one time, according to officials.Both of the victims were taken to Einstein Medical Center in private vehicles and both were placed in stable condition.Police are investigating the shooting.

MAPLE SHADE, N.J. - A judge has allowed a man to plead guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the shooting death of a New Jersey high school soccer player despite pleas from the victim’s family that the proposed 15-year sentence was too lenient. Twenty-one-year-old Yohan Hernandez of Newark was charged in the slaying of 18-year-old Moussa Fofana, a junior on the Columbia High soccer team. He was shot on a field outside the Underhill Sports Complex in June 2021.

SHARON HILL, Pa. - Academy Park High School's football team began their season Friday afternoon, a year after 8-year-old Fanta Bility was killed by police gunfire while leaving the football field with her family.Authorities say in late August, Fanta Bility and her family were leaving the Academy Park High School football field among a crowd of fans when a shooting between two young men erupted. Bullets from that shooting came in the direction of three Sharon Hill Police officers who were monitoring the crowd. The officers returned fire, shooting toward a car they believed was involved in the initial gunfire, striking the car and members of the crowd.
