Premier League football’s return could see a “frenzy” of activity with problem gamblers, a charity founder has warned. The flight of English football will return on June 17 after the coronavirus lockdown with Manchester City taking on Arsenal and Aston Villa facing Sheffield United.
And it means that betting companies, who cover 61 per cent of the 44 clubs across the top two leagues in the country, will get their advertising back.Their customers remained resilient during lockdown, reporting only a 5 per cent decrease in activity with no league action.And the co-founder of charity Gambling with Lives has sent a warning about a potential “frenzy” when matches return.
