Two months into lockdown and West Lothian is cleaner and quieter than it has been in decades.Air and noise pollution levels have plummeted, new figures show.Air quality monitoring stations in Linlithgow and Broxburn have recorded big falls in the levels of nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere.The number of flights from Edinburgh airport is also far fewer than a year ago, meaning a big reduction in aircraft noise.The Broxburn air quality monitoring station showed nitrogen dioxide levels of 30 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3) in April last year, with PM10 andPM2.5 levels, which are differing measures of particulate sizes, at 28 and 16.
