Five day Christmas bubbles to give families more time together over the festive period have been scrapped. People living in Tier 1, 2 and 3, had been allowed to take advantage of a relaxation of the rules with Christmas 'bubbles' but the Prime Minister has this afternoon cut that down to just one day - December 25.

No Christmas bubbles will be allowed at all for millions that have been put into tougher restrictions in Tier 4 by Boris Johnson at a press conference from Downing Street.

Tier 4 residents living in London and parts of the South East must not leave their area and will be subject to a legal stay at home order much like the November lockdown.
