With coronavirus cases around the world now well into the millions, fears about the spread of the virus are now widespread.
Studies have revealed that the main way the virus spreads is through respiratory droplets from sneezes or coughs. Now, researchers from the Japanese Association for Infectious Disease have revealed just how long these droplets can linger in the air.
Kazuhiro Tateda, a researcher on the study, explained: “It seems the transmissions are happening during conversations and even when people are standing a certain distance apart. “These cases can’t be explained by ordinary droplet infection.
