Rumours surrounding North Korean despot Kim Jong-un's health have intensified today after several media reports have suggested he has died or is in a coma.

The Hong Kong TV news channel HKSTV's vice director Qing Feng has claimed that according to a "very solid source", the ruler is dead.

Meanwhile Shukan Gendai, a Japanese magazine, says he is in a "vegetative state" after heart surgery which went wrong earlier this month.

It was also claimed last night that China, the country's closest ally, deployed medics to North Korea to "advise on" the 36-year-old ruler.
