Police footage shows the moment two drinkers were found hiding in a wardrobe above a pub that was serving customers despite the lockdown.

Officers raided the Pitsmoor Hotel in Sheffield, after receiving reports that it was ignoring an order to close as part of the nation's fight to tackle the deadly virus.

The pub was stripped of its licence on Tuesday by Sheffield City Council, the BBC reports. The 50-second clip shows police searching the premises before coming across the wardrobe where the pair were hoping to avoid detection.

An officer says: "I'm going to check the wardrobe, I'm going to, I'm going to." As the wardrobe is opened he tells his colleague: "Other side, other side. "Right there's a person there, there's a person there." Tw
