The number of coronavirus patients to die at Salford Royal Hospital has reached 23 with four more deaths announced today. The latest update this afternoon means that ten deaths have been confirmed at the hospital in the last three days.
Public Health England also revealed that the number of people testing positive for coronavirus in Salford has now gone over 100.
A total of 104 cases have been confirmed in the borough - an increase of 12 cases since yesterday. Across Greater Manchester a total of 78 people have now died in hospital after they tested positive for Covid-19.
Salford Royal Hospital has had the highest number of coronavirus deaths of any NHS hospital trust in Greater Manchester but because it is a specialist centre, patients
