France's coronavirus lockdown measures will remain in place until at least May 11, the country's president has announced. President Emmanuel Macron's announcement raises fears that the UK will have to follow similar measures for more than a month.
Addressing the nation from Paris, Macron revealed that France has seen an additional 574 death from coronavirus, bringing the country's total death toll to 14,967.
The country has also seen almost 137,000 test positive, with only the USA, Spain and Italy seeing more cases. Macron admitted that the country "was not prepared" for the Covid-19 outbreak, and said if they had been several regions of France could have been spared cases.
