Free resolution service launched for landlords and tenants in private rent sector during pandemic

Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland, Citizens Advice Scotland and Shelter Scotland have collaborated to publish a resource for private tenants during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Private Rented Sector Tenant Support booklet contains advice and information about tenants rights in the private sector.

Included in the resource is information on a new service from SafeDeposits Scotland introduced to help tenants and landlords who have experienced problems with rent arrears during lockdown.

The service is designed to establish a satisfactory resolution specifically to rent arrears, without the need for further action and with the aim of helping to avoid tenants being evicted by ensuring that landlords can recover some or all of the.
