Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has praised Nicola Sturgeon live on Good Morning Britain today for her leadership during the global pandemic. The 55-year-old presenter interviewed the First Minister and even went as far as to say that he believes she is one of the top three leaders in the world during the coronavirus pandemic.

Nicola Sturgeon appeared on the show to urge Scots to follow coronavirus guidance as cases continue to rise. Lockdown restrictions in the  Glasgow  region are being extended to cover East Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire in an attempt to stop Covid spreading out of control.

After the ITV interview had wrapped, Piers and co-presenter Susanna Reid introduced Lorraine Kelly to tell viewers what to expect on her show.
