A full schedule of train services resumes across the country today, but capacity on board remains at 25% before rising to 50% from 7 May.
Seat coverings in carriages will indicate the seats available and onboard catering is suspended. The numbers of passengers travelling by train have been rising steadily, according to Iarnród Éireann's Corporate Communications Manager Barry Kenny.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr Kenny said the train service is still operating for essential travel only and masks should be worn onboard.
There are minor changes to departure times on some services, so passengers are advised to book in advance online and check the times.
