Gemma Collins believes the country needs her during the coronavirus lockdown. The TOWIE star, 39, compared herself to Marilyn Monroe when she performed for US troops in Korea.
Speaking during a Q&A with her fans before her new TV show Diva On Lockdown aired last night, GC revealed her intention to keep the nation "entertained" during this difficult time.
She said: "Like Marilyn Monroe was sent out to entertain the troops in the war times, I realised that the country may need the GC for entertainment and that's what I want to give with this series. "I'm a reality queen and I want people to see the realness." Gem has been filming her new ITVBe reality TV show but admits it's been odd to make a programme during the lockdown.
