The number of coronavirus cases worldwide has surpassed two million with more than 120,000 lives lost to the virus. As of Wednesday morning there have been at least 2,004,670 cases of the disease, according to official sources.
However, the true figure is expected to be much higher experts say as many people will not have been tested as they may have suffered mild symptoms.
A total of 128,000 deaths have been recorded across the world, with more than 12,000 of those in the UK as of today. The latest global figures come less than two weeks since it reached a million confirmed cases on April 2.
In the last week we have seen countries start to lift their lockdown restrictions as in some places cases and deaths begin to drop.
