Good Morning Britain 's Dr Hilary Jones has warned the UK is likely about to see a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalisations.

He revealed we generally follow France's trend with the virus, and have been two weeks behind them since the pandemic began.

This means that in just under a fortnight, the UK can expect a rapid increase in cases. Hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid quizzed Hilary on the topic after Piers, who travelled to France on holiday this year, was concerned about the rising figures in the country.
