Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has claimed that it's your "civic duty" to avoid public transport while urging people back to work.

Speaking at the Government's daily press conference the minister called on people to drive or cycle to work to avoid pressure on public transport.

It came as Mr Shapps said the Government is investing£2billlion to upgrade roads and railways during lockdown. But London Mayor Sadiq Khan has warned that Transport for London (TfL) will be forced to reduce services unless it receives a Government grant tonight.
