A Conservative MP has said the British Prime Minister's senior adviser, Dominic Cummings, must resign after he travelled 400km during the coronavirus lockdown, while his wife showed Covid-19 symptoms.
In a tweet, Steve Baker said it is intolerable that the government "is losing so much political capital". Boris Johnson is under renewed pressure to sack Mr Cummings after reports surfaced that the 48-year-old made a second trip to Durham, where his family lives, despite social restrictions.
In a statement yesterday, Downing Street said Mr Cummings had travelled to Durham in March to be close to family to seek help looking after his four-year-old child after his wife became ill with coronavirus symptoms.
