Greyhound racing was the first sport out of the traps, if you pardon the pun, when competitive sport was given the go ahead by the government to resume on June 1 amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

It has not looked back since with the social distancing protocols at tracks around Britain being strictly observed. Currently, 50 people are allowed in attendance to ensure the running of greyhound meetings.

This will be extended on Friday, July 3 when Open Racing, the highest grade of action will return with 75 people at the track.

The iconic Greyhound Derby has already been rescheduled for October and the sport also benefits from two meetings being shown live on Racing Post Greyhound TV every night, a channel which is accessible on Sky
