ECMO is a complex procedure that is used to pump and oxygenate the patient's blood outside the body, replacing the function of the lungs and heart.Following the treatment, he returned to Royal Bolton on May 13 where he continued his recovery.
Days later, his condition had improved enough for him to be taken off the ventilator and he began to eat and move.And on Thursday morning, Brett left the hospital altogether to rapturous applause from staff, police colleagues and his wife and family.
