When nine-year-old Krystian Oyenigba-Suliga’s mum got sick with Covid before Christmas, he wanted to do something to help. “I was really worried,” he says. “So, when our 14 days isolation finished, I went back to school and I spread the message about how serious Covid is. “I wanted to do something to help inform other people.” Sick enough at one point to need an ambulance, special needs nursery assistant Tatiana made a full recovery.
Next week, children in Newham, East London, will be given a special quiz designed by her son to help them get informed about coronavirus.
Krystian and his dad, Olu, 57, a lunchtime supervisor, are part of a peer-to-peer network being pioneered by Newham to reach out to communities with Covid information.
