Health chiefs reveal 125 coronavirus cases beyond Covid-19 wards in Scottish hospitals

The NHS recorded 125 cases of coronavirus beyond special Covid-19 wards in Scots hospitals.The spread was revealed by Health Secretary Jeane Freeman today, prompting concerns about testing and the transfer of patients to care homes.The first case happened in mid-March and have been declining since the beginning of May.Freeman said the NHS has been “alive” to the risk of infection across hospitals and took strict steps to limit any outbreak.Visits to patients were restricted and there was “wide use” of appropriate personal protection equipment, she claimed in a written statement at Holyrood.Five of the total cases have not been classified as “closed”, where there is no evidence of continuing transmission linked to possible contacts and
