Hundreds of holidaymakers arriving back in Northern Ireland from Spain this morning will have to quarantine for 14 days. The new policy announced last night came into effect at midnight.
Travel agents in Northern Ireland experienced a huge surge in bookings to Spain when quarantine requirements for people arriving from the country were lifted earlier this month.
But they have now been reimposed, in line with the rest of the UK. From midnight anyone returning to or visiting Northern Ireland from Spain, including its islands, must now quarantine for 14 days.
There are four flights departing to and arriving from Spain at Belfast International Airport today. The flights from Barcelona, Alicante, Ibiza and Malaga are operated by EasyJet, RyanAir
