A drunk man who launched a frightening tirade of abuse against nurses in a hospital faces jail after he threatened to ‘smash their faces in’ because he wasn’t being seen quickly enough.

Carl Trousdale, 37, had gone to Fairfield General Hospital in Bury for treatment for a wound to his finger, but became abusive after waiting just 10 minutes.

As a nurse was dealing with another patient, he ‘stormed’ into the triage room and said; “my f***ing finger has swollen up, it feels like it’s going to fall off, all you’re doing is taking her f***ing pulse’.

Attracting the attention of other staff, Trousdale, of Prestwich, continued to shout and swear at the nurse making her feel ‘intimidated and in fear of attack’.
