Summer staycations are in sight after Boris Johnson gave the green light for hotels and other types of holiday accommodation to reopen from next weekend.Holidaymakers will be able to go away with family or friends provided they observe social distancing rules - which are due to drop from 2m to a new '1m plus' standard.Announcing the latest lifting of lockdown measures in the Commons today, the Prime Minister said: “Provided that no more than two households stay together, people will be free to stay overnight in self-contained accommodation including hotels and bed and breakfasts, as well as camp sites, as long as shared facilities are kept clean.”The changes will take effect from July 4 along with the reopening of other hospitality.
