Boris Johnson is expected to announce new measures that will allow pubs, restaurants and hotels to reopen from July 4. The Prime Minister, supported by other senior members of his Cabinet, has been leading calls to review the UK's two-metre social distancing rule, in a bid to kickstart the UK economy which has tanked during the coronavirus crisis.

Reports at the weekend suggested that a new "one metre plus" rule will be introduced, which allow people to be closer to each other if they take additional measures to protect themselves, such as wearing a mask.
