How Scottish Premiership players could return to training as Italian FA pioneer strict new guidelines

Scottish footballers could face three weeks of testing before even being allowed to resume training, if strict new measures being proposed in Italy are followed elsewhere.

The Italian FA is keen to get Serie A finished, with Juventus just a point ahead of Lazio at the top of the table. The intention is for players to return to training on May 4, but that will have to be approved by the government.

As such the FIGC has laid out a 34 page plan to limit the coronavirus risk. The current Scottish Premiership season could be declared over as soon as this week, but it's likely similar steps will have to be followed when football does return.
