A paramedic working on the frontline has died from coronavirus. The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed one of their colleagues passed away in hospital on Saturday (May 2).The staff member worked in the West Region and died after contracting the deadly bug.Pauline Howie, Chief Executive of the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: “On behalf of everyone at SAS, I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the family.
Our focus will be on supporting them during this very difficult time.”The tragic news comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed on Wednesday that 11 frontline workers in the NHS and care sector had died from coronaviris.Six were NHS staff, and five care sector workers.
