Hundreds of Manchester College students and staff to be tested after Covid outbreak

The cases were identified on Friday and have now been sent off to confirm whether they include the Indian variant B.1.617.2, which is currently driving big rises in infection rates in Bolton and elsewhere.

Today two mobile testing units have been deployed to the college’s campus on Hyde Road in Ardwick, which remains open, with around 1,300 students and 80 staff now being encouraged to get the PCR tests.
