A dentist who spent three weeks in intensive care after contracting coronavirus has thanked the NHS staff who saved his life.
Loved ones feared the worst when Tony Jacobs, 63, was placed on a ventilator as his condition deteriorated. When Mr Jacobs, who co-owns 406 Dental in Prestwich, contracted the virus in March, he displayed only mild symptoms, but was admitted to hospital after having difficulty breathing.
Thanks to the efforts of staff at North Manchester General Hospital, he pulled through and has since been allowed to return to home.
Now, Mr Jacobs says he wants to repay the nurses and doctors who helped him. "I feel very lucky to be here," he said. "I am so thankful to everyone.
