'I'm proof pregnant women can beat coronavirus' says first diagnosed mum-to-be

An NHS worker said to be the UK’s first mum-to-be to test ­positive for coronavirus has recovered from the illness – and is enjoying a healthy pregnancy.

Sophie Biddle, 37, revealed she is fit and well in a welcome piece of good news amid the pandemic gloom. She was in her second trimester when she was diagnosed four weeks ago.

Sophie even felt her baby kick for the first time while in self-isolation. Fortunately her symptoms were mild. After two weeks in isolation, she has been given the all-clear to return to her job as an NHS physiotherapist.
