NEW DELHI: India and Australia on Thursday announced the elevation of bilateral ties to a “COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP" with the two leaders of the sides saying they intend to sign pacts on cyber security and trade, on cementing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, and on logistics support for their militaries.
Both countries also announced upgrading a key dialogue -- till now held between the foreign secretaries and defence secretaries of the two countries -- to the level of foreign and defence ministers.
