Irish broadcaster Liz Bonnin has today revealed the devastating news that her mother has died after contracting COVID-19. Liz used her Twitter platform to recount her experience of what she and her family have gone through, and how angry she is at what is, and isn’t, being done.
The 44-year-old also shared her huge appreciation for the NHS, who she revealed were compassionate and caring throughout, and who would let her call even in the middle of the night to ask about her ill mother.
Taking to Twitter, Liz shared an impassioned plea to everyone to take COVID more seriously as she said: ‘I lost mum to COVID this Christmas.
