Telly fans were fuming on last night as ITV bosses decided to air Contagion on ITV2. The 2011 flick from direction Steve Soderbergh tells the story of the outbreak of new virus - fictional MEV-1 pathogen, much like the coronavirus pandemic currently ripping through Britain and the rest of the world today.

The film boasts an A-list cast including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow as Beth Emhoff, who becomes the first patient to contract the killer infection.

Matt Damon, Jude Law and Kate Winslet also star in the movie, but some viewers found the film a bit to close to home as the UK remains in lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak.
