ITV is following in the footsteps of other soaps including Eastenders as they announced they are suspending filming of two of their biggest shows.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale tried to stay onscreen until the summer, but due to the outbreak of the developing public health crisis in the UK, ITV bosses have decided to suspend production.
Drastic measures are being taken in other parts of the television industry as shows are being broadcast with no live audience however many series have had to postpone their production.
The cast of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale were told to not come to work from Monday 23 March as show bosses attempt to stop the spread of the virus.
