Jamie Carragher was not surprised that Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil opted to turn down a proposal to take a 12.5 per cent wage deduction amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Ozil earns a reported £350,000 per week but is reportedly one of three Arsenal players to turn down the proposal with the German believed to be pushing for a deferral to his wages instead.
It comes just a couple of weeks after Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut said he would advise all players he represents across Europe not to sign off any pay cuts.
