The Scots comic underwent a hysterectomy in January when doctors discovered that she had ovarian cancer.Following the gruelling operation, Janey was told she would then have to undergo further chemotherapy treatment as the cancer had progressed to stage 3b and had spread beyond her ovaries.

Since then, Janey has shared her journey with her social media followers and has given updates on the toll the battle is having on her mental health.

And today she told her Twitter followers that she has been struggling but will keep trying to make it through. Sharing a black and white selfie of herself, she wrote: "It’s another day, the world seems terrifying, Putin is punishing innocent people and the chemo is battering the cancer inside me and sometimes I can’t see how I will make it through this year, but I won’t stop trying is all I can say. #MentalHealthMatters #chemo." And her followers quickly took to the comments to send the 61-year-old lots of love.One said: "We're all having to take one day at a time just now Janey.
