Jeremy Corbyn's brother Piers will be handed a £10,000 fine after an anti-lockdown protest in central London Mr Corbyn, 73, of the Stop the New Normal campaign, was arrested on Saturday afternoon in Trafalgar Square, central London on suspicion of breaking new Health Protection Regulations.
Confirming his arrest and the fine, Mr Corbyn told the Daily Mirror: "This is a monstrous attack on the right to protest." He said that he planned to appeal the fine.
Mr Corbyn appeared at the event on Saturday where protesters displayed anti-mask and anti-vaccination placards. Some branded the pandemic a 'hoax'.
