Manchester United star Juan Mata’s father has given a glowing verdict on Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu with the Red Devils reportedly keen on signing him.

Salisu has been an ever-present for Valladolid in La Liga this season, helping them to 15th place in the Spanish top tier. Valladolid have conceded a relatively low amount of 33 goals this season, less than the likes of Valencia and just two more than Barcelona.

Salisu’s impact on the side has been heralded, despite still being in his first season with the first-team. Earlier this year Spanish outlet AS claimed that United, Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Valencia had enquired about Salisu, while Real Madrid have also recently joined the race.
