Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed “great” Timo Werner - despite missing out on the Chelsea-bound striker. The Kop boss was also fulsome in his praise of Kai Havertz, the Bayer Leverkusen starlet whose long-term future remains in question.
But Klopp's words came with a call for patience from Reds fans, amid the uncertainties coronavirus has brought to football. Werner was keen to move to Anfield this summer, and the Reds boss was keen to bring his compatriot to Merseyside.
Klopp made clear to club bosses that he felt Werner would be a good fit at Anfield, having seen him grow at RB Leipzig this season, where the 24 year-old has scored 31 goals.
