Kate Garraway says coronavirus has 'attacked' Derek's body so much he's now diabetic

Kate Garraway has opened up about her husband Derek Draper's battle with coronavirus and the damage it's done to his body. The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, has said that the virus has "attacked everything" and left him with clots in his lungs, holes in his heart and made him diabetic.

Derek, 52, a former political advisor, is in a coma after he caught the deadly bug in March and he's been in critical care for the last 10 weeks.

Doctors have only recently been able to give him an MRI scan and assessed what coronavirus has done to him.
