Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain 's controversial host Piers Morgan was missing from the show on Thursday as Susanna Reid was joined by a different face.

Tipping Point's Ben Shephard was presenting alongside Susanna instead of Piers, who announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he would not be appearing on the show the next day.

For those confused by the change in line up, here is an explainer and when Piers is expected to return. Before the nation went into lockdown, Piers only appeared on the show alongside Susanna on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Susanna then presented "Therapeutic Thursdays" with Ben, so-called because it was a relaxing break from Piers, and then on Fridays Ben would present with Kate Garraway.
