Kate Garraway 's close friend says she's "stuck between grief and hope" as her husband Derek Draper battles coronavirus. Derek, who is dad to Kate's two children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, has been in intensive care for weeks after contracting COVID-19.
He was placed in an induced coma as he battled the virus on a ventilator, and after almost two months, doctors tried taking Derek, 52, out of his coma but he sadly failed to regain consciousness.
Kate, 53, said in an emotional appearance on Good Morning Britain last week: "He has fought the most extraordinary battle, the fact that he's still here and holding on, he is now COVID-free, he has tested negative, the fight with the virus is over, but it's wreaked extraordinary damage on his body
