A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life from Kawasaki disease weeks after recovering from coronavirus, her distraught parents have said.
Scarlett Roberts suffered from a mild case of coronavirus five weeks ago which she recovered from, but is now in intensive care with a Kawasaki inflammatory response at a hospital in Leeds, reports the Mirror.
Her dad Piers Roberts, from Wakefield, said she was given just a 20 per cent chance of survival from the disease, which inflames blood vessels and is believed to be a reaction to coronavirus.
It comes as eight-month-old baby Alexander Parsons died from Kawasaki Disease at the Derriford Hospital in Plymouth on April 6.
