As well as coronavirus, many are now worried about Kawasaki disease – which seems to be affecting a number of children. Doctors seem to think it is linked with Covid-19, as many of the patients had previously had the disease.

Last month concerns were raised after a number of children were admitted to intensive care units with symptoms resembling the disorder.

Many doctors believe the disease is caused by the immune system overreacting to coronavirus. Kawasaki disease is a rare disease which causes swelling of the blood vessels in the body.

This can lead to complications with the heart. Kawasaki disease is always treated in hospital, which means detecting it as soon as possible is vital.
