A Cambuslang nurse who appealed for donations to help hospital patients has told the Reformer she is overwhelmed by the response she received.Auxiliary nurse Lynne James-McGonigle has collected dozens of bags of toiletries and other items for people in isolation in hospital. She has also raised more than £1000 through an online appeal to help the sick too.
As the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread, Lynne, who lives in Newton Farm, realised that many people would be rushed into hospital with no items at all, and with isolation procedures in place it would be difficult for family or friends to pass on certain things, such as shampoo, to the patients.
